Virtual Realm Mechanics

• Roguelike Mode - Choose cards every few waves to modify gameplay
• No Resets - One life, no continues. Control units are valuable
• Card Synergy - Build around Fortune or Lovers cards for best results

Which cards to pick during Virtual Realm runs

Fortune

GOD TIER

Double Unit Placements - Even unique units can be placed twice

MUST PICK when offered. Reset runs until you get this card. 2 Speedwagons = viable economy.

The Lovers

S TIER

+1 Placement limit for all units. Damage cap +30%.

Very strong opener. Stack multiple Lovers cards for consistency.

Damage Cards

A TIER

Various damage multipliers

Pick after securing Fortune/Lovers. Damage stacking is important.

Defense Cards

B TIER

Various defensive bonuses

Lower priority. Offense is the best defense in VR.

S Tier - VR Essential

Must-have units for Virtual Realm success

Kyito

Main DPS / Crit

THE Virtual Realm GOAT. Crit-based damage with Duelist trait (+25% crit, +range, +boss damage). Only needs 0.8% trait, not 0.1%.

Trait: Duelist (0.8%) - Required

Absolute must-have for VR. Even after nerfs, still #1 in this mode. Etherealize unlocks more passives.

Sun Jin Wu

Main DPS / Hybrid

Summons deal extreme damage. Hybrid attack. Works well with Fortune card (double placement).

Trait: Ruler (0.1%) or Sacred (0.3%)

Still the #1 unit overall. Excellent in VR but Kyito is specifically optimized for this mode.

Berserker (Kenpachi)

DPS / Debuffer

Full AoE, Slow, Vulnerability (+15% damage taken), Hyper Armor break. 1 Placement limit.

Trait: Ruler (0.1%) or Sacred (0.3%)

Essential debuffer. Armor break crucial for VR bosses. Use with Lovers card for double damage cap.

A Tier - Strong Picks

Strong picks that synergize well with VR mechanics

Ace (Spade)

AoE DPS / Burn

Full Screen AoE, Burn damage, bypasses Armor. 3 Placement limit - benefits greatly from Fortune card.

Trait: Ruler (0.1%) or Wizard (DoT)

Excellent with Fortune card. 3 placements become 6 placements = massive DPS increase.

Sasuke

DPS / Control

Stun control, Black Burn (Amaterasu), can dodge attacks. Provides safety in dangerous waves.

Trait: Damage-related

Control is very valuable in VR where you cant reset. Stun saves runs.

Sakuya

Control / Hybrid

Time Stop freezes all enemies. Becomes Hybrid after upgrade. Most stable control skill.

Trait: Cooldown

Time Stop is S-tier utility. Underrated unit that can save failed runs.

Ragna

Burst DPS

High burst damage. Self-delete after burst. Good for clearing difficult boss waves.

Trait: Ruler (0.1%)

Use burst strategically on boss waves. Time it before self-delete.

B Tier - Solid Options

Law

Support / Boss Control

Room teleports enemies back. Essential for boss control in VR.

Trait: Range or Cooldown

Boss teleport resets their position. Very useful for tanky VR bosses.

Akainu

Hybrid / Debuffer

Confusion, Burn damage. Hybrid attack. Legendary = easy to max.

Trait: Damage or DoT

Best Legendary unit. Easy to Etherealize. Good value pick.

Mob

Hybrid DPS

High damage Hybrid with support capabilities. Expensive but effective.

Trait: Damage-related

Solid all-rounder. Good if missing S/A tier options.

C Tier - Use With Caution

Lower priority in Virtual Realm

Scarlet Maid

DPS / Debuffer

+40% damage taken but enemies speed up. Risky in VR without reset options.

Trait: Ruler (0.1%) - Required

Enemy speed increase is dangerous in VR. Use with caution.

Lelouch

Support / Control

Stand Still creates 8-second enemy wall. Complex mechanics.

Trait: Cooldown

Unique stall utility but buggy. Not recommended unless mastered.

Critical support units for Virtual Realm

Speedwagon (Fast Cart)

Economy - CRITICAL

Only economy unit. With Fortune card, you can place 2 Speedwagons = double income.

Trait: Fortunate (Required)

MUST HAVE. The Lovers card strategy requires resetting until you get Fortune to place 2 Speedwagons.

Virtual Idol (Miku)

#1 Buffer

Best Buff unit. Buff Potency relic (+27%) essential. Range stat priority.

Trait: Range or Cooldown

MUST HAVE. Buffs entire team. Etherealize for stronger buff effects.

• Reset until Fortune card - Double placement is game-changing
• 2 Speedwagons solves the economy problem that makes VR Hard difficult
• Stay consistent - If you start with Lovers, keep picking Lovers cards
• Hard Mode rewards: 1000 Gems + tokens + Mythic relics
• Kyito with Duelist is specifically optimized for this mode
• Crit Rate relic goes on Kyito, Crit Damage relic (+72%) also on Kyito
• VR is endgame content - complete Story Mode and get Mythic Relics first
